FAQ.

What people ask about the coffee, brewing it, and ordering it. Where something isn’t decided yet, it says so.

The coffee

Whole beans or ground?

Whole beans if you have a grinder: grind them just before you brew. If you don’t, pick how you brew in the shop and we send it ground for that.

Where does it come from?

From India’s hills, two places so far, on opposite sides of the country: Chikmagalur, in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, and Araku Valley, in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh. The front of every bag names its place. More about where it grows.

How fresh is it?

The roast date and the use-by date are stamped on the back of every bag, beside the batch number. It’s best within a month of the roast date. Read the bag shows where.

Which roast is in my bag?

It’s ticked on the back of the bag when we pack it: light, medium or dark, with the brewer it’s ground for.

How would you brew it?

Four ways, printed on the back of every bag: South Indian filter, French press, pour-over and moka pot. Pick yours on a coffee’s page and the recipe shows up there.

What are drip bags?

Our coffee, ground and sealed in single-cup paper filters that hang on your cup. Tear one open, hook it over the rim and pour water just off the boil. No brewer needed. See the drip bags.

Do you sell brewers?

The four the bag teaches: a South Indian filter, a French press, a pour-over dripper and a moka pot. They’re in the shop.

How do I keep it fresh?

Squeeze the air out, zip it shut and keep it out of the sun.
